Adinath betters Budhia`s feat in Limca Book of Records

Adinath Awhad, a boy from a nondescript town of Marathwada, yesterday covered a distance of 78.6 km in 7 hours and 36 seconds to better the earlier Limca record set by child marathon runner Budhia and Anastha Barela. A student of Omkareshwar School of Tridhara village in the district covered the distance between Pathari and Tridhara village. ‘‘It was a difficult task but my teacher, Ravi Raskatal inspired me to set the new record,’’ adinath, a native of Korla in Bastmat Tehsil, said. Ravi raskatal said, ‘‘We have recorded Adinath’s feat using video cameras as advised by the authorities of Limca Book. Soon we will send them the video records for entering the name of Adinath in the book.’’ He started running from Pathari and broke the previous records by running 78.6 km, 13 km extra distance than the earlier record holders, in 7 hrs and 36 seconds. Earlier, 6 year-old Orissa boy Budhiya made a record of covering 65 km in seven hours while a 12 year-old Anastha Barela completed 60 km in 5 hours and 45 minutes.
